Given that it’s the close season, I thought I’d try something a little different over on the Stacey West’s , and give a documentary of sorts a bit of a go.
At the start of the 2001/02 season, the launch of ITV Digital promised financial security and games live on TV for many struggling football clubs. Within a year, the venture was liquidated. The fallout saw clubs facing financial disaster. This is the inside story on how a knitted monkey almost killed Lincoln City Football Club.
With exclusive interviews with the people involved, this documentary charts the downfall of ITV Digital, and the efforts to save a community football club, that ultimately brought the city closer to its team.
