Wrexham Promotion Winner Seals Peterborough Switch
Peterborough United have completed the signing of Tom O’Connor following his departure from Wrexham by mutual consent.
The 27-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Posh, returning to the club where he spent part of last season on loan. O’Connor made 19 appearances in all competitions for Peterborough during the 2025/26 campaign before injury brought his spell to an early end.
O’Connor joined Wrexham from Burton Albion in January 2022 and went on to make 115 appearances, scoring eight goals. He was part of the squad during the club’s rise from the National League to the Championship, playing a role across their three successive promotions.
Capable of playing in defence or midfield, O’Connor began his career with Southampton and also had spells with Gillingham and Burton before moving to Wrexham. He signed a new three-year deal with the Welsh club in July 2024, but his time there has now ended permanently.
Peterborough manager Luke Williams said: “Tom is an excellent player so we are really pleased to have him back with us. He is a strong character, it is brilliant news for us.”
Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson added: “I’d like to wish Tommy all the best and thank him for his contributions at Wrexham Football Club over the last few seasons.”
