The early-round draws for the FA Cup and FA Trophy have thrown up several ties of interest for Lincolnshire clubs, including one all-county meeting.
The FA Cup begins with the extra preliminary round on Saturday 8 August, with preliminary round ties scheduled for Saturday 22 August. The FA Trophy starts a week later, with the preliminary round on Saturday 15 August and first round qualifying on Saturday 29 August. Lincolnshire interest in the FA Cup is centred on seven extra preliminary round ties. Blackstones have been given a home draw against Northampton Sileby Rangers, while Boston Town travel to Daventry Town. Barton Town are also on the road, heading to Deeping Rangers, while Skegness Town host Retford. Bottesford Town have home advantage against Aylestone Park.
The standout tie is an all-Lincolnshire meeting between Grimsby Borough and Bourne Town, while Grantham Town have also landed a county derby after being paired at home with Lincoln United. The Whites’ trip to the Meres looks to be the tastiest in terms of county ties.
In the FA Trophy, Grimsby Borough will begin in first round qualifying at home to Dunston, while Bourne Town have been drawn away to Newcastle Town. Lincoln United also have home advantage, with Nuneaton Town due to visit Ashby Avenue. Those ties are scheduled for Saturday 29 August.
