West Ham United Hold Talks Over Sunderland Winger

West Ham United are among the clubs showing interest in Sunderland winger Simon Adingra, with discussions said to have taken place over a possible move. The 24-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at AS Monaco after falling out of the first-team picture at Sunderland.

Adingra joined Sunderland last summer, but his time on Wearside did not develop as expected under Regis Le Bris. Monaco are understood to be keen on taking him back on loan, but West Ham have now emerged as a possible destination after holding talks over a deal.

The Hammers are preparing for life back in the Championship and are expected to strengthen in wide areas, with uncertainty still surrounding the futures of Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville. Adingra’s pace and previous experience in English football make him a player of interest, although competition is understood to be significant.

Ipswich Town and Hull City have also been credited with interest in a permanent deal, while RB Leipzig and AS Roma are among the European clubs said to be monitoring the situation. Adingra was part of the Ivory Coast squad that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2023, when he was also named the tournament’s best young player.
