The Championship transfer market continues to move quickly, with Bristol City and Cardiff City both linked with defensive additions, while West Ham United and Sheffield United are facing very different summer issues.
Bristol City Set For €2.5m (£2m) International Defender Deal
Bristol City are reportedly closing in on another summer signing, with Maccabi Haifa defender Lisav Eissat said to be on course for a move to Ashton Gate. The 21-year-old Romanian international is understood to be heading for England in a €2.5m deal, with Bristol City having met his release clause.
Eissat is expected to sign a four-year contract, with the option of a further year, as Michael Skubala continues to reshape his squad. The centre back was born in Israel but has represented Romania at senior international level, making his debut in a 2-1 friendly win over Moldova.
The defender came through the Maccabi Haifa academy, having joined their youth setup in 2012, and gained senior experience during a loan spell with Hapoel Hadera. He made 26 league appearances there, scoring three times, before returning to Maccabi Haifa and becoming part of their first-team picture.
Bristol City have already brought in Sam Greenwood, Sam Tickle, Gibson Yah and Jed Wallace this summer, with the Eissat move continuing a recruitment drive based around lowering the age of the squad. The Robins have also been linked with Leyton Orient forward Dom Ballard, another player who would fit that younger profile.
