Sheffield United reportedly have no intention of selling former Lincoln City loanee Ryan Oné this summer despite growing interest in the 20-year-old striker.
Glasgow Rangers have expressed an interest in Oné, while the forward also has admirers in England following his productive loan spell at Sincil Bank. That includes Leicester City, relegated to League One, who may now need to approach the Blades for a loan, rather than to buy.
That’s because Sky Sports News reporter Anthony Joseph has now revealed that Sheffield United do not wish to sanction a permanent departure, and that it would take a significant offer for the Blades to enter negotiations over a permanent transfer.

Oné remains tied to the Bramall Lane club until 2029 after signing a long-term contract two years ago, leaving Sheffield United in a strong position as interest builds around the striker.
The forward spent the second half of the 2025/26 season with us after arriving on loan during the January transfer window. He scored five League One goals as we secured the title and promotion to the Championship, with each of those strikes arriving during the closing weeks of the campaign.
His contribution included the opening goal against Reading as promotion was confirmed, while he also found the net against AFC Wimbledon during the Easter period, helping to push us to promotion. Those performances appear to have strengthened Oné’s reputation, but Sheffield United’s position suggests any interested club would have to make a substantial financial commitment to secure him permanently.
Leicester’s interest could still develop as the summer progresses, while a return to Scotland may also appeal to a player who began his senior career with Hamilton Academical. While Leicester might not be a huge draw in terms of a permanent move, Rangers would be in a position to offer a substantial sum, if they deemed Oné talented enough.
Another loan move could potentially provide a compromise if regular first-team football is not available at Bramall Lane, although there has been no indication that Sheffield United are currently prepared to let him leave on either a temporary or permanent basis. If there were a temporary exit on the cards, there will be inevitable calls for us to loan him, but recent rumours have suggested we may be aiming a touch higher.
