Former Lincoln City defender MJ Kamson-Kamara has joined Kilmarnock on loan from Hearts until January 2027.
The 20-year-old only left the Imps during the summer, signing a four-year contract at Tynecastle after Hearts paid City a cross-border compensation fee. He had reached the end of his contract with us, having originally joined the club’s academy before signing professional terms in 2023.
Kamson-Kamara made one senior appearance for the Imps, coming off the bench during an EFL Trophy fixture against Grimsby Town in September 2024. However, much of his development came during loan spells away from Sincil Bank.
He featured regularly for Barwell during the 2023/24 campaign before stepping up to National League North with Peterborough Sports. Last season brought another progression as he joined Glentoran, where his performances in Northern Ireland ultimately helped earn him his move to Hearts.
The centre-back has made just one competitive appearance since moving to Edinburgh, featuring against Benfica in the Europa League qualifying rounds. He will now continue his development at Rugby Park, with Kilmarnock looking to strengthen following an injury to Robbie Deas.
Neil McCann’s side have endured a difficult opening to the Scottish Premiership season, losing their first four league matches and conceding heavily. Kamson-Kamara could therefore receive an early opportunity to establish himself in their defence.
He is expected to train with his new teammates on Friday before travelling with the squad for Saturday’s game at Aberdeen. He will link up with another former Lincoln City man, Erik Ring, who moved north of the border over the summer.
