£40m Forward To Start? AFC Bournemouth Line Up Suggested For Lincoln City Clash

Lewis Cook

Cook is expected to return to the starting XI after appearing from the bench against Newcastle, allowing Tyler Adams and Alex Scott to rest.

Cook was named the Football League Young Player of the Year after emerging from Leeds United’s academy and making 85 senior appearances for the club. Since joining Bournemouth in 2016, the midfielder has played 277 times for the Cherries, while he also captained England to Under-20 World Cup glory and earned one senior cap.

Alex Toth

Toth could receive a rare competitive start after playing regularly during pre-season but featuring only briefly since the campaign began.

Tóth’s breakthrough came at Ferencváros, where he won the Hungarian title and was named the club’s best player for the 2024/25 season. Bournemouth paid a reported £10.4 million for the midfielder in January 2026, shortly after he had established himself as a senior Hungary international.

Marcus Tavernier

Despite the possibility of being rested, Tavernier is backed to start so Bournemouth can retain some continuity and capitalise on his strong early-season form.

Middlesbrough gave Tavernier his professional breakthrough in 2017, and the winger contributed 18 goals across 155 appearances before leaving for Bournemouth five years later. He has since added 22 goals in 128 outings for the Cherries and signed a contract running until 2029.
