With Lincoln City out of action over the autumn international break, it’s time to look at some more of the journeys that await Imps supporters during the 26/27 Championship campaign.
City have been excellent on our travels thus far with the joint-best away record in the second tier, winning three of our four games away from Lincolnshire.
It’s therefore a good time to look at part three of our guide to Lincoln’s away matches this season, detailing the expected ticket prices and allocations for the first part of 2027.
13) Norwich City
Date: Friday 1st January 2027 (15:00)
Ticket Prices: Adults £27-£37, Concessions (65+ & U21) £17-27, U18 £12-22, U12 £7-£14
Expected Allocation (if required): 2022
Lincoln City start 2027 with a New Year’s Day trip to Carrow Road to face Norwich City. Unlike the home fixture, this hasn’t been moved and remains on the opening day of the year, which falls on a Friday. The Canaries have five categories of pricing, but I’ll count us out of Grade A+ and Promo Game, given the fixture falls on a Bank Holiday.
Therefore, I would expect us to fall in Grade A to C, with a £10 differential between adult prices across both categories. I would be inclined to suggest the middle option, which would mirror Bolton Wanderers’ visit to Carrow Road in September. Birmingham City were only charged £25, but that was a midweek fixture, hence the lower pricing.
What is more clear-cut is the allocation we will receive, up to 2022 tickets. The away end in East Anglia is fairly unique, covering a handful of blocks along the South Stand towards the corner of the pitch.
14) Birmingham City
Date: Saturday 23rd January (15:00) (TBC)
Ticket Prices: Adults £32.50, 65+ £27, 16-24 £21.50, U16 £16
Expected Allocation: 2000
While the Blues have aspirations of Premier League football and a 62,000-seater stadium in the near future, for the moment, they remain on par with us. We have reached the part of the season where Sky haven’t announced their TV selections, so any game from this point onwards remains subject to change.
This is one of the more recent Championship grounds we have been to, having visited St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park in March 2025. The away end remains the same from both our visits in the 24/25 campaign, in the Gil Merrick Stand Lower. An allocation of around 2000 tickets should be available to Imps supporters.
Judging by their early season opponents, our ticket prices should be closer to what Bristol City were charged, rather than Middlesbrough or near neighbours Wolverhampton Wanderers. At £32.50 for adults, that’s a pretty moderate figure by the second tier’s standards.
15) Wrexham
Date: Saturday 6th February (15:00) (TBC)
Ticket Prices: Adults £32, Concessions (65+ & U21) £26, U18 £18, U14 £10
Expected Allocation: 1293
Successive away games against teams automatically promoted from League One in the 24/25 season take us back to The Racecourse to face Wrexham. After our Tuesday night fixture that year, hopefully this remains a weekend encounter, though this remains subject to change depending on Sky Sports TV selections.
Wrexham away is often a game in high demand amongst opposition fans since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over the club five years ago. With an allocation of just 1293, similar to what we offer opposition fans, this could be a game in very high demand for City supporters. However, it is a long journey to North Wales, and this particular away trip is followed by another game expected to entice Imps fans.
On the pricing front, all second-tier outfits will pay the same price this season, which is towards the lower end of the spectrum for the division. Like Norwich, the away end is on the longside in the Wrexham Lager Stand.
16) West Ham United
Date: Tuesday 16th February (19:45) (TBC)
Ticket Prices: Adults £30, Concessions (66+ & U21) £20, U18 £10
Expected Allocation (if required): 3001
This was one of the first fixtures that Imps supporters looked for when the fixtures were released in June. Lincoln will head to the London Stadium for a midweek fixture in February. If there is a small consolation to that, it falls around the time of half-term, so could still allow some families with young Imps the opportunity to travel to the capital.
West Ham have three categories of matches, and the Imps will almost certainly fall into Category C. Given our fixture falls midweek, and their London derby against Charlton Athletic was the lowest set of pricing, City supporters should expect to pay one of the lowest figures in the league for this fixture.
The caveat is the away end, which is split between the lower and upper tiers of the London Stadium. There will be up to 3000 tickets available for Lincoln fans for this capital clash.
17) Swansea City
Date: Saturday 20th February (15:00) (TBC)
Ticket Prices: Adults £22-32, Concessions (65+ & U23) £13-£19, U18 £10-£14, U14 £6-£9 (Family duo (1x Adult & 1x U14) for £18-£29)
Expected Allocation (if required): 1973
A long week of travelling takes us to South Wales on the penultimate weekend of February to face Swansea City. The Swans have three sets of categorised pricing this season, and have announced which games fall into those up until the new year. I would expect the Imps to be a Category B or C match, with the away end falling under Zone 2 pricing.
There is a substantial difference in the two sets of pricing, which could see us pay as little as £22 for adults, but more likely £32. For families, there is better news if the prices are the latter, with a ‘family duo’ pricing structure of £29 if we are a Category B fixture. Given the games that precede this fixture, I don’t expect City to need the full allocation of around 2000 tickets for our trip to South Wales, but you never know!
Imps supporters will be housed in the North Stand, behind one of the goals at the Swansea.com Stadium.
18) Portsmouth
Date: Wednesday 3rd March (19:45) (TBC)
Ticket Prices: Adults £32, 65+ £26, U23 £23, U18 £14, U14 £9, U11 £7
Expected Allocation (if required): 2197
Unfortunately, the long journeys continue after Swansea, with an even further trip to Portsmouth falling in midweek at the start of March. It’s the second midweek trip in a couple of weeks, and comes before two enticing trips to the West Midlands later in the month. Fratton Park is a ground that Imps supporters will have become familiar with during our time in League One.
Again, the allocation of over 2000 tickets will more than suffice for demand for this fixture. City fans will be housed in the Milton End, located behind one of the goals at Pompey’s home ground. Ticket prices are, once again, fairly standard for the division, with plenty of different age categories for younger supporters.
Of course, most children who manage to attend this fixture will have had to get out of school to make our 18th league away day of the campaign.
