West Ham United are monitoring a possible return for Axel Disasi, with Nuno Espirito Santo also reportedly keen to secure Morato on a permanent deal.

A January approach for Disasi would depend on Crystal Palace ending his loan, while promotion is expected to influence any move for Morato.

Permanent Morato Move Linked To Promotion

According to The West Ham Way, Nuno wants to retain the Nottingham Forest defender beyond his current loan. ExWHUEmployee reports that a permanent transfer is likely to be pursued if the Hammers return to the Premier League.

However, the details of the existing agreement remain unclear. The report does not establish whether West Ham already have an option to buy or another clause that would assist negotiations with Forest.

“We also understand that Nuno is keen to sign Morato on a permanent basis and should we be promoted, then a move for the Forest defender is likely.

“I will try and get more info on his current loan arrangement as to whether we have anything in the deal to make a permanent transfer more achievable.”

That leaves Morato’s longer-term future dependent on further developments, with no permanent agreement reported at this stage. Promotion is presented as an important condition behind the proposed move, rather than confirmation that a transfer has already been arranged.

Disasi Return Depends On Palace Decision

Disasi is another defender already familiar with West Ham, having spent the second half of last season on loan at the club. The Frenchman made 17 appearances across all competitions, including 14 in the Premier League, and scored once in the FA Cup.

The 28-year-old subsequently joined Palace on a season-long loan from Chelsea in August. His parent club had paid £38.5 million to sign him from Monaco in 2023, but further temporary moves have followed an earlier loan spell with Aston Villa.

ExWHUEmployee claims West Ham retain an interest in bringing him back, although there is currently no indication from Palace sources that his stay will be cut short.

“West Ham still hold a firm interest in Axel Disasi, with the player’s loan at Crystal Palace currently not going to plan for the Eagles and the player.

“Although there is nothing from Palace sources suggesting his loan from Chelsea will be terminated, West Ham are definitely keeping an eye on this.”

The report identifies January as a possible opportunity should that situation change. It also points to Disasi’s lack of appearances for Chelsea this season when discussing the possibility of another move.

“Should the loan arrangement be scrapped, West Ham could move for him in January, as he can play for another club as he hasn’t featured for Chelsea this season so far.”

Disasi’s previous spell gives West Ham a useful basis for judging whether a return would strengthen their defence, while Nuno’s reported interest in retaining Morato suggests he values continuity. Establishing the terms of Morato’s loan should help clarify what is achievable next summer. Disasi remains a player to monitor, with any serious pursuit dependent on a decision that has yet to come from Palace.
