Player Assessment with a third of the season gone – Pt4

This might be a little unfair as the guys I did last week didn’t get Forest Green to impress, whilst this lot have.

That said, I doubt many will be losing sleep over it. After all, we might have won on Saturday but we were a long way from being accomplished.

Without further ado, here’s our latest look at the players of this season, starting with the one player who did get a chance to shine at the weekend.

Kellan Gordon

We have one picture in the Imps’ archive of Kellan Gordon, which isn’t a surprise. Aside from his cameo on Saturday he’s been rather limited in appearances, two in the Checkatrade Trophy and one other league outing. It’s going to make his best moment easy to pick anyway.

Without a League Two start it is hard to glean much from the on-loan Derby youngster except this; he’s no full back. It might be on his CV, but mine says I sold training packages once, it doesn’t mean you’d employ me to do it again. no, Kellan Gordon is a winger, a player who wants to be on the ball, beating players and of course arriving late into the box to finish off moves.

For a while, Bernard Mensah had been the man who came on in the wide role late on. Danny will be delighted that wasn’t the case this weekend.

Best Moment

First touch, first goal. You have to be in the right place to score and Gordon was, less than a minute after coming on as a sub. Great work. His raiding runs at Scunthorpe caught the eye though, watch out for him tomorrow night. It’s hard to score him highly as he’s barely been seen, but he gets one point for the goal alone.
