A good day for Imps? Three former players born on this day

There have been three Lincoln City footballers from recent years born on December 6th, one in 1955,one in 1975 and one in 1988.

They represent several different faces of the club too, from players who we’d have back right now to players you might cross the street to avoid. Before we move on them though, why not take a moment to appreciate this; we’ve only played a game on December 7th once in the last 40 years. It’s one of those dates that seems to have been used for the FA Cup second round when we’ve not been in it, meaning the only game we could have done as being played on this day was a 2004 defeat against Macclesfield.

On December 7th 2004 we travelled to Macclesfield, where we held them 0-0 until the final ten minutes, Then, Jon ‘the beast’ Parkin banged in a brace and a late Jamie McCombe consolation couldn’t save us. We got the last laugh though, we did them in the play off semi finals. Have that.

Still, it isn’t a classic is it? However, we can issue some thanks for the fact three players were born today, giving you the good, the bad and the ugly. Bit harsh on Jamie Clapham of course, but someone has to be the ugly.

Here’s three former Imps all born on December 7th.
