Jovon joined the Imps from Derby County and is a well-built centre forward with tidy feet. He impressed for the Under 18s during the recent FA Cup run and has previously appeared for the first team in pre-season against Scunthorpe United.
He penned his first professional deal just before the end of the 20/21 season, after which he spoke to the club’s official site. “It feels amazing and I’m really happy,” said Jovon, who originates from Long Eaton. “It’s a proud moment for me and my family. The hard work has paid off, but now I want to keep improving as a player.”
He is expected to spend next season on loan at Gainsborough Trinity, where Tom Shaw is the manager. Director of Football Jez George confirmed his switch to the Northolme, adding: “Jovon is a talented young player, who can play across the front line, and has demonstrated his undoubted potential throughout the season. He has all the physical attributes to become a professional footballer. He will now have the opportunity to train with our first team every day and take his first steps into senior football through a loan with Gainsborough Trinity next season.”
That loan was confirmed on August 11, 2021.
