The Stacey West Development Fund, backed by ourselves, Vital Lincoln City and Imptoons, has now hit the £2000 mark.
As a reminder, many different groups are now coming together to support the fund, which is running alongside the wider Stacey West Bond fronted by the Red Imps Community Trust. Their drive is to attract investors with £500 minimum to help fund the stand; our intention is to give those with less means the chance to contribute to the first major structural change to our ground in more than 20 years.
This figure is set to rise, significantly. Chris Wray, aka Imptoons, is supporting us through his latest card set release, which you can get your hands on this weekend at the game. A portion of the income from that venture is to go directly into the fund, and on the Stacey West Podcast tonight we’re announcing something else quite special to help us get that figure up.
I don’t know this for sure, but I get the feeling that rising material costs, and labour shortages, are driving up the estimated outlay for the new, improved stand. Make no mistake; much of the hard work has been done over the last year or two by Damien Froggatt and his team. They’ve applied for, and be given, grants for around £1.8m, so anything we do is simply the last little push after a mountain of hidden graft. However, it’s nice to be able to do that, right? Even better not just as a single site, or group, but as a united front. Or, as some have said in the past, Imps As One.
