Will The Imps Be Revisiting These Former ‘Targets’ This Winter?

Liam Cullen – Swansea City

This is a bit of a cheat, as we’ve only reportedly been interested in him for a couple of months, rather than all summer. What I would suggest is any interest is not likely to be new, so possibly he was someone we had half an eye on in the last window. He’s a Welsh striker who has been used sparingly by Russell Martin this season. He’s got just five appearances through November and December, all from the bench. He’s just 22 and a product of their youth academy; he’s also a Welsh Under 21 international. I can see him being the sort of player we might sign, but I think recent results have necessitated that we look for someone with a little more experience. I wouldn’t rule it out if Dan N’Lundulu went back to Southampton, but I don’t think we’d bring Liam in as well as having Dan, plus another new signing. It wouldn’t make sense from a budget perspective, even if Jez George has said we’ll be looking for a number nine.
