It might be a quiet day for Lincoln City fans, but plenty has been happening across League One.
Here is a roundup of today’s headlines in our division.

Port Vale land Marvin Johnson after Sheffield Wednesday exit
Port Vale have added experienced wide player Marvin Johnson to their squad following his summer departure from Sheffield Wednesday. The 34-year-old attracted interest from League One and Championship clubs and has now opted to reunite with Darren Moore, the manager under whom he previously flourished at Hillsborough. Moore has been in charge at Vale Park since February 2024 and guided Vale to promotion from League Two last season.
Johnson was a near ever-present for Wednesday last season, featuring in all but five of their Championship matches, and he played a key role in the Owls’ promotion from League One in his previous third-tier campaign. His versatility on the left gives Vale another option as they look to build on last year’s progress.
Career numbers cited alongside the announcement highlighted his substantial spells at Sheffield Wednesday, Middlesbrough and Oxford United, with earlier stints at Kidderminster Harriers and Motherwell.
