October is always a difficult time for news.
Transfer stuff drops off, and management changes aren’t quite as frequent as later in the season.
That’s not to say there isn’t something to talk about – we’ve got a new contract for a rumoured Imps target, and a Devon derby coming up.
All this, and more in your Stacey West League One latest.

Cardiff City’s Defensive Reshuffle As Barry-Murphy Explains Osho Half-Time Call
Cardiff City head coach Brian Barry-Murphy has explained the decision to substitute Gabriel Osho at half-time during the Bluebirds’ win over Reading, with Will Fish introduced and making a late goal-line clearance to preserve the points.
Osho, signed in the summer and expected to be a key figure, has endured a difficult run as Cardiff juggle injuries and rhythm at centre-back. Barry-Murphy confirmed Fish, Dylan Lawlor and Calum Chambers all featured in his thinking amid a tight turnaround, noting that only Chambers was fully fit going into the game.
He also acknowledged recent errors when playing out from the back and the need to stabilise a unit that has conceded more frequently in recent weeks after a strong start. The result maintained Cardiff’s push near the top of League One, though the manager accepted that rotation and niggles have led to constant change at the heart of defence.
“I just don’t think he played well. Gabriel in his home games so far has made a lot of mistakes that I would never associate with him and he’s not in a great rhythm yet.”
“We have some problems in that area of the pitch. Will Fish’s knee was heavily strapped, Dylan Lawlor wasn’t fit, and Calum Chambers was our only fully fit centre-back.”
