On the stats program Wyscout, there is a feature called Index.
The index is the best XI players for each division, arranged in a 4-4-2 formation. I quite like it as it causes a bit of debate, but it is very rare to see a Lincoln City player in the actual XI.
Right now, in the current Wyscout Team of the Season, there is a Lincoln City player included. How exciting.
With that in mind, I thought I’d present that team to you, without too much comment, for discussion.

Keeper – Filip Marschall – Stevenage
A Hungarian-born goalkeeper (also eligible for England) who came through Aston Villa’s academy. On 27 June 2025, he joined EFL League One side Stevenage on a permanent deal.
He’s the best at leaving his line in the division and is fourth for prevented goals per 90.
Right Back – Fraser Murray – Wigan Athletic
Scottish midfielder who plays mainly on wide right. He’s been a wing-back for Wigan this season, and is third for number of defensive duels in the division. He’s also a threat carrying the ball, with a 68% dribble success rate, third in the division.
He started at Hibernian and moved to Kilmarnock in 2021. He signed for Wigan Athletic on 9 June 2025.

Left Back – Millenic Alli – Luton Town
Alli is a centre forward who previously featured for Halifax Town and Exeter City. He joined Luton Town in 2025.
He’s been operating at left wing back for them, and apparently, Wyscout loves a maurading wing back. Played there against us, and got their assist.
Centre Back – Kal Naismith – Luton Town
Scottish defender/midfielder who earlier had spells with Accrington, Portsmouth and Bristol City. He (re)joined Luton Town in September 2025.
He’s right up there for passes to the final third, making 152, third highest in the division (Wickens is fifth).
Centre Back – Dylan Lawlor – Cardiff City
Welsh centre-back who progressed through Cardiff City’s academy to the first team squad. He has been appearing at centre-back for Cardiff in 2025–26.
Right Midfield – Amario Cozier-Duberry – Bolton Wanderers
English winger who moved from Arsenal to Brighton in 2024 and is on a season-long loan to Bolton Wanderers. He joined Bolton on 5 July 2025 and debuted on 3 August 2025.
He’s hot property, and there’s a lot of talk of Brighton recalling him in January for a Championship loan. He’s the best ball carrier in the division, with 116 1v1 dribbles.

Left Midfield – Ben House – Lincoln City
Yep, Ben is the best wide left player in the division. That’s got to be because he has blended a goal return with incessant pressing, contesting the second-highest number of defensive duels of any player in the division.
It’s nice to see Ben in the side.
Centre Midfield – Ollie Norwood – Stockport County
Northern Ireland international midfielder (57 senior caps) who previously played for Sheffield United. He joined Stockport County on 23 August 2024.
He’s been around a bit, but is impressing at Stockport, who are many people’s favourites for promotion this season. He’s top for passing volume (963) and through passes (25) this season.
Centre Midfield – Rubin Colwill – Cardiff City
Welsh attacking midfielder developed at Cardiff City, capped by Wales at senior level. He remains a Cardiff City first-team player.
With eight smart passes so far, he’s joint first in the division, along with Norwood. He’s also fifth in the division for touches in the box.
Centre Forward – Lorent Tolaj – Plymouth Argyle
Swiss striker who moved up the pyramid via Aldershot Town and Port Vale. He signed for Plymouth Argyle on 22 August 2025.
He’s top for xG (7.27) and has slightly underperformed with his six goals. He’s third for shots as well.
Centre Forward – Aaron Connolly – Leyton Orient
Republic of Ireland international forward who previously played for Brighton, Hull, Sunderland and Millwall. He signed a two-year deal with Leyton Orient on 7 July 2025.
He is some player. He’s second for touches in the box (56), third for 1v1 dribbling (79) and top for shots (51).
