O’Riordan Thriving At Doncaster With Rhodes’ Support

Blackburn Rovers loanee Connor O’Riordan is earning strong reviews at Doncaster Rovers, where he has made 13 starts and become a mainstay under Grant McCann.

The centre-back says regular conversations with Blackburn’s loan manager Jordan Rhodes have helped his development and focus, amid fan chatter about a possible January recall.

“I don’t really tend to worry about that stuff anyway. I just need to keep my spot in the Doncaster team and that’s all I’m thinking about. Blackburn seem to be really pleased. I speak to the loans manager quite a lot and they’re happy with me.”

O’Riordan also reflected on past loans at Kidsgrove Athletic, Nantwich Town and Raith Rovers, crediting the Scottish spell for pushing him out of his comfort zone and accelerating his pathway into senior football. Doncaster sit in the lower half, yet O’Riordan’s minutes and steadiness have been a positive through a transitional autumn.
