Bolton Teen Ritchie Enters Club Record Books

Tobias Ritchie has become Bolton Wanderers’ youngest goalscorer in nearly 44 years after finding the net against Oldham Athletic in the Vertu Trophy.

At 18 years and 52 days, the academy forward climbed a notable club list that includes Jack Wilshere’s loan strike in 2010, with only Mick Bennett and the legendary Francis Lee younger among official records.

“It was a good finish from young Toby. He showed good strength to get himself in there and a composed finish. I’m delighted for him,”

said Steven Schumacher, who also handed senior opportunities to Nathan Broome, Sean Hogan and Harley Irwin. With qualification already secured, Bolton balanced senior selection with youth integration, taking their total number of players used this season to 33 across competitions. The night underlined the club’s commitment to pathway minutes without compromising competitive standards.
