City have been credited with interest in 12-goal Dundalk striker Eoin Kenny, as reported by Football League World.
Kenny has previously been linked with Blackburn Rovers and is a free agent after leaving League of Ireland side Dundalk. If the report is accurate, he’s also being watched by Blackpool, with a transfer battle on the cards.
He came through the Dundalk system and already has a fair amount of senior football behind him. He grew up around the game while his father, Stephen, was managing in the League of Ireland, first at Derry City and later at Dundalk.
That move south brought him into local football with Rock Celtic, then into the Kennedy Cup with the Dundalk Schoolboys setup, before he joined Dundalk’s academy in 2020.
He signed his first professional deal in March 2023 and made his debut later that month in a Leinster Senior Cup tie. A loan move to Wexford followed that summer, where he scored in back-to-back games before returning to Dundalk for 2024.
His first Dundalk goal arrived in February, with his first league strike coming that September against St Patrick’s Athletic. He added a late equaliser at Galway the following month during a difficult year that ended in relegation.

Kenny then played a major part in Dundalk’s 2025 First Division title win, scoring 10 league goals. He has also represented Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland at youth level.
Here’s an interesting fact I can’t really prove: I’ve been doing my ‘five players‘ series recently, and I researched and made shortlists. There is a League of Ireland First Division one planned, and Kenny was on that list. I hadn’t delved too deeply, but players such as Gbemi Arubi (a one-time Imps trialist) and Bray Wanderers’ Billy O’Neill were also scribbled down for me to look at. Just in case you doubted I’d got him on my list!
Kenny can play anywhere across the front, and there’s an element of the Dylan Duffy in him, I feel. The FLW report has him on 12 goals and nine assists, but I think that is all competitions. Wyscout suggest nine goals and five assists in the division, still not to be sniffed out.
It’s also believed there are a number of other clubs from Europe and Scotland (I know Scotland is in Europe, just before anyone calls that out) reported to be interested, so if we are in the hunt, it could be one we have to really fight for.
Having watched Borehamwood yesterday, we ought to be tracking Sousa and Abdulmalik
