Tomorrow, we face Cardiff City in a massive top-of-the-table clash at the Bank.

We won’t go into Christmas top, but we can give ourselves a huge push towards a top six spot with a win. There is a lot of football still to be played, but the next four games will go a long way to identifying us as either real contenders or top ten overachievers.

By the time we kick off tomorrow, a pair of Imps will already have gone toe-to-toe in the NIFL, with Coleraine and Glentoran set to face off this evening. Zane Okoro’s Coleraine are top of the table, albeit level on points with Larne, having played two games more.

MJ Kamara, who has been on the fringes at Glentoran, is now in their first team and his side host the leaders. They’re 11 points behind in fourth, but have three games in hand, and know a win could give them the mathematical chance they need to reel in the Bannsiders.

Kamara was on media duty ahead of tonight’s clash, which suggests he could be a guaranteed starter. In his interview, he spoke with maturity about what was expected of his side.

“We know what’s required against a team like Coleraine and it’s about reaching that level again as a group,” said our recruit from Bromley.

“We’re desperate to get back to winning ways and give our supporters something to cheer about heading into Christmas.”

Glentoran have been going through a tough patch, one that has seen them turn to the 19-year-old, and they’ve not been disappointed. However, that doesn’t mean a big effort isn’t required against Okoro’s leaders.

“We know the results haven’t been good enough recently, even though the performances have been there. That’s been the frustrating part for all of us,” added MJ.

“There have been a lot of honest conversations and soul-searching this week, because we all want to turn this around as quickly as possible. The positive thing is that we know we’re not playing badly.”

Zane and MJ have had really useful spells over in Ireland, adding different elements to their game. Zane has had to deal with slipping out of the team of late, while MJ showed huge resilience to stay focused when he wasn’t getting minutes.

Both will come back to Sincil Bank better for it, but for now, their focus will be a little closer to their temporary home, and tonight’s huge game at The Bet McClean Oval, kicking off at 7:45 pm.
