The darlings of Sky TV, Lincoln City, will see another home game shift for the cameras is expectation of something happening around our potential promotion.
Nothing is won and lost now, but it could well be by the time we play Leyton Orient on April 11th. With that in mind, Sky have decided to show our game against the Os live on the box, meaning a 12:30 kick off.
It is the penultimate game of the season, and given we only have Stevenage, Wycombe and Port Vale after that, it could be a day when something is decided. If we maintain a 13-point gap between Bolton and us, then it’ll all be done, but if, as expected, the Trotters keep their run going and one or two games don’t go our way, this could be pivotal.
Games being moved for Sky is the norm now, and to be honest, the impact on many fans for a home fixture is probably not as serious as going to Cardiff for a lunchtime kick-off. That’s the football landscape, and if we’re happy to take the money from Sky, then we have to be happy with the switching of kick-off times as well.
So far this season, City have kicked off early at the Bank against Luton Town (3-1), Stevenage (1-0), and Peterborough United (5-2). This weekend against Stockport will make it four, with Orient bringing it to five. We’ve kicked off early away from home against Cardiff City (2-1), and had another home game, against Burton Albion, shifted for television coverage to a Thursday evening.

With just Wycombe, Stevenage and Port Vale to follow, it does feel like this could be the last game to move for television, but there is still a question mark over the trip to Doncaster Rovers. It is international weekend, and Ryan Oné could be called up by Scotland Under 21s, Ivan Varfolomeev for Ukraine Under 21, while Reeco Hackett’s St Lucia are playing in Europe, meaning he could get a call-up.
Who knows, given his form recently, Jack Moylan might even be a sneaky pick for Ireland as they face Czechia in their World Cup play-off.
