League One Latest: Peterborough United Post Profit, Luton Town Sanction Midfielder Exit

League One continues to throw up drama at both ends of the table, with relegation pressure, financial updates, academy loans and crucial survival clashes all dominating the latest headlines.

There is movement across the division this week, from the relegation scrap involving several clubs to off-field developments and loan activity further down the pyramid.

Below is a quick round-up of the latest League One talking points from around the division.

Rotherham United defender calls for positivity in survival battle

Rotherham United defender Reece James has urged the squad to remain positive as the Millers attempt to climb out of the League One relegation zone.

The Millers currently sit three points from safety with eleven matches remaining, having lost five of their previous seven outings. James acknowledged the situation is difficult but insisted the squad must take responsibility and remain focused on turning results around.

“We need to try and stay as positive as we can,” James said. “We’ve got to be better in the situation that we’re in. We’re trying, to a man, but we know we must come away with the three points, and we’ve got to take ownership of that.”

“Whenever you’re in these sorts of situations, you speak as a group of players because ultimately you’re in this together. You’ve got to make sure the lads that have been in this position before can help some of the younger players.”

James also admitted confidence can suffer during a relegation fight but believes the squad must stand up to the challenge. With Bolton Wanderers next up, he stressed that every player in the squad may be required as injuries and suspensions create opportunities at a critical stage of the campaign.

“Confidence is a big thing in football and you have to get beyond that,” he added. “Every player is needed. Players who might not have expected opportunities will get them and it could come at a crucial period of the season.”
