Seeing Lincoln City Is Hard! Wimbledon, Leyton Orient and Now Reading Sold Out

The Imps’ trip to Reading a week today is now sold out, and those two words are becoming synonymous with tickets at Lincoln City.

I’m not pretending we’re massive just because we’re selling out allocations. We’re top, we’re hopefully heading for promotion, and of course, fans want to see us do that. At home, we’re attracting lapsed fans, those who come occasionally, those who came a few times with their Dad in the nineties. It happens, it’s a symptom of success and one I’m always welcoming of. A couple of weeks ago, I bumped into a lad called Dan who played football for Dad in the early nineties. When I asked if he was a regular, he said no, but his lad wanted to come a bit more.

Capturing hearts, capturing minds. In 2016/17, it set us on this path, and now, it is bringing a new generation of supporters to the Bank.

Away from home, allocations are selling out quickly. Reading is a big ground; the allocation is decent, but if you want to go in the away end, you can’t. 2,800 Imps’ fans will travel south for the game, hoping to be singing ‘you’re only here for the Champions‘. However, we might be nervously eyeing Stockport and Bolton and hoping things go our way, and maybe even leaving the ground knowing we’re going up.

Nobody wants to miss that, right?

I’d hope by the time we play Orient, promotion will be done, but if you planned on rocking up to the Bank to see what a Championship-side-in-waiting looks like, you’ll be disappointed right now. The game against Orient and Friday’s clash with Wimbledon are also sold out. Keep an eye on those, though, as the buyback scheme is in place.

Season ticket window closing

Imagine we could be playing Spurs next season, or maybe West Ham. If we go up, Wolves will be at the Bank, while Southampton, Stoke, Sheffield United and West Brom could also be coming to visit. They’re huge games, and if you want your seat to be safe, then you need to renew your season ticket. The first window for renewals closes this Thursday – that means the best price window goes on Thursday.

Disclaimer: It could still be Bromley and MK Dons. You never know.

There is now a waiting list for season tickets, a situation the late John Reames would have given anything for back in the day. I doubt he, nor any of the chairmen of the past, could even envisage a day where people would have money in their hands, waiting for a season ticket, and the club wouldn’t be able to provide one.

These are special days, days where following Lincoln City has become a delight, every week. Numbers are swelling as we stride towards promotion, not edging, not creeping, but striding, and Easter weekend 2026 could be the big one. If you don’t have a ticket to watch, then sadly, you’re probably not going to get one.

Up the Imps.
