Peterborough hand Lisbie new deal through to 2030
Peterborough United have tied Kyrell Lisbie down to a new long-term contract after an impressive first season at EFL level.
The 22-year-old has produced 20 goal contributions in all competitions, including 11 in League One, and the Posh have moved to secure him through to 2030. It is the kind of move Peterborough often make when a young player begins to show genuine end product and growth.
Lisbie said the deal was the natural next step after a season in which his confidence and output both improved:
“I am really pleased. It makes sense. I am grateful for the faith shown in me by everyone at the club and it is down to me to make sure I work hard between now and the end of the season and build on what I have achieved on a personal level so far this season.
“It is my first season in professional football, everything has been a dream come true, I have assisted and scored goals and had some really memorable moments in a Posh shirt.”
Manager Luke Williams also framed the new deal as a reward for output rather than simple asset protection, saying:
“It is refreshing to see hard work and performances equalling reward.”
