Wilshere weighs up Palmer involvement for Posh clash
Jack Wilshere wants Kasey Palmer involved against Peterborough United, but Luton Town are dealing with a difficult turnaround after international duty.
Palmer only returned on Thursday after Jamaica’s extra-time defeat to DR Congo, while Ali Al-Hamadi was also travelling back after international action with Iraq. With Peterborough on Friday and AFC Wimbledon on Easter Monday, Luton have to balance urgency with fatigue and recovery.
Wilshere admitted Palmer’s fitness is one thing, but the timing is another, saying:
“We’ll have to see how he is before tomorrow, but we want him involved.”
He struck a similar note on both Palmer and Al-Hamadi, making clear the club cannot ignore the strain of the travel, adding:
“We have to see how they are, but it could bring opportunities for other players as well.”
There was at least better news elsewhere, with Nahki Wells back in training and Mads Andersen edging towards a return, giving Luton a few more options as the schedule tightens.
