Boston United claimed the Lincolnshire Senior Cup with a 3-0 victory against Grimsby Town at the Jakemans Community Stadium, their first triumph in the competition since 2006.
A young Pilgrims’ side proved too sharp on the night, punishing missed chances and sealing the trophy with a clinical second-half display.
Grimsby Town arrived with a strong-looking XI that blended senior players and youth, but it was Boston’s under-23 group, bolstered by goalkeeper Louis Chadwick, who took control when it mattered.
The Mariners had shown their intent early on, with Henry Brown and Jude Soonsup-Bell both involved in promising moves, while Sam Lavelle saw an effort blocked from close range. Jason Svanthorsson, stepping up his return from injury, also offered a threat, linking well in attacking areas.
However, despite those bright moments, it was Boston who struck first just before the break. A delivery into the area was not properly dealt with, and Sam Warburton reacted quickest to convert from close range on 44 minutes.
Grimsby pushed hard after the interval and came within inches of levelling just before the hour. Soonsup-Bell slipped Brown through one-on-one, but after rounding Chadwick, his effort crashed back off the crossbar, a moment that summed up Town’s night.
Within minutes, Boston made them pay.

Luca Alonzi doubled the lead on 62 minutes, firing high into the net after another loose ball in the box was not cleared. From there, the Pilgrims looked comfortable, managing the game well as Grimsby struggled to create clear openings despite a series of corners and attacking changes.
Alfie Perry added gloss to the scoreline in stoppage time, with his ball into the box finding its way in to make it 3-0 and confirm Boston’s first Senior Cup success since 2006.
For Grimsby, it was a frustrating evening. They had spells of control and created openings, but ultimately lacked the cutting edge required, while Boston showed composure and efficiency in both boxes. It was the second trophy to arrive in Boston in a week, with Boston Town clinching the United Counties League Premier North title at the weekend.
