League One Latest: Cardiff City Star’s Uncertain Future, Reading FC Ponder Player Contract

Trott future unclear despite Cardiff promotion

Nathan Trott’s future at Cardiff City is uncertain despite his role in their promotion-winning campaign.

The goalkeeper, who joined on loan from FC Copenhagen, has been a key figure with over 40 appearances, but reports suggest he has turned down the chance to make the move permanent.

Interest from other Championship clubs, along with the possibility of returning to Denmark, has left his next step unclear as Cardiff prepare for life in the second tier.

“Trott has so far rejected Cardiff’s offers and is looking elsewhere for his options, which are many,” reported Danish outlet Tipsbladet.

Cardiff coach Brian Barry-Murphy remained cautious when discussing the situation, indicating that no decision has yet been finalised.

“I think he’s done great over the course of the season and we’re very grateful to have him,” he said.

“There’s so many different moving parts to these things, speculation is a waste of time. If something happens then it happens and if not, it’s all good.”

Despite the uncertainty, Trott’s performances have clearly strengthened his standing ahead of the summer, leaving Cardiff with a decision to make as they reshape their squad for the Championship.
