Champions League hopefuls Heart of Midlothian are plotting a summer move for Lincoln City defender MJ Kamson-Kamara, as reported by The News Letter.

Hearts are currently top of the SPFL, level on points with Celtic. They’re four clear of Rangers, and those two sides play tomorrow. Two teams qualify for the Champions League from Scotland, and Hearts are hoping to be one.

They’re now reportedly eyeing MJ Kamson-Kamara, who has recently helped Glentoran to a European spot in Ireland. He’s had a hugely successful loan spell in the NIFL, where he developed into one of their standout performers, and attention is now building around what comes next for the young Imp.

Kamson-Kamara made 22 league appearances during his time in Northern Ireland, showing consistency and composure that earned him a place in the NIFWA Team of the Year. For a player still early in his career, it was a significant step forward, and one that has clearly elevated his profile beyond the Irish Premiership.

He has also been nominated for NIFWA Young Player of the Year, and now the Edinburgh side, chasing a first non-Glasgow Scottish title since Alex Ferguson did it in 1985 with Aberdeen, are watching closely. They have leaned heavily into data-led recruitment following recent investment, targeting young players with clear upside. Kamson-Kamara’s performances this season place him firmly in that bracket, and it is understood they are considering a move.

While speculation grows, Glentoran have made no secret of their desire to keep the defender beyond his loan spell, underlining just how highly he is rated by those who have worked with him closely.

“That would be the plan, yeah,” said assistant manager Tim McCann when asked about a potential permanent deal.

“I think it’s something that the club’s probably already looking at. He has been fantastic. For such a young guy, 20 years of age, he’s playing like a seasoned pro.

“He’s been absolutely fantastic. He’s great to have around the club. He’s still very young…he’s been brilliant. He’s got an old head on young shoulders.”

For now, MJ is expected back at the Bank, but it could be an interesting summer for him, given his exploits on loan.
