Ondrej Kricfalusi, Baník Ostrava
Ondrej Kricfalusi is probably the least realistic target on this list financially, but arguably one of the most intriguing. The 22-year-old Czech has split his season between defensive midfield and centre-back for Baník Ostrava, and at 195cm he immediately stands out physically. There are some conflicting listings online regarding height, but visually he is very obviously a towering presence.
The problem with assessing him statistically is role variation. Wyscout and percentile models compare him primarily against midfielders, but a large chunk of his minutes have come at centre-back, which muddies the data considerably. Five goals from deep positions is impressive regardless, and there are repeated mentions in scouting reports of his confidence carrying the ball forward and switching play with either foot.
That versatility would naturally appeal to a coach like Skubala. A player capable of functioning as a six, stepping into a back three, or covering at right-back gives enormous tactical flexibility. Lincoln have increasingly valued multifunctional players and Kricfalusi looks tailor-made for systems that morph between shapes in possession and out of possession.
The bigger concern is price and trajectory. With a contract running until 2029 and a market value already above £2m, this feels more like a player destined for one of Europe’s stronger mid-level leagues rather than the Championship. Still, stylistically, he looks like the type of modern defensive player English clubs increasingly target: athletic, progressive and comfortable in multiple phases.

Well done Jack for your Hat Trick for Eire !
