We just keep winning these awards! Once again, Lincoln City are coming out on top of an award, and once again, it is down to Super Jack Moylan.

The Magician has been named the PFA League One Fans’ Player of the Month for April after a pivotal run of form during City’s title-winning campaign.

The Irish midfielder struck three goals across the month as the Imps wrapped up the Sky Bet League One crown with 103 points, securing promotion to the Championship for the first time in 65 years. His defining contribution came away at Reading, where his late goal earned a 2-1 victory at the Select Car Leasing Stadium and confirmed promotion for Michael Skubala’s side.

Moylan’s excellent form also brought international recognition. The 23-year-old received his first senior Republic of Ireland call-up before marking his debut in remarkable fashion with a hat-trick against Grenada.

In the final vote, Moylan finished ahead of Stockport’s Tayo Edun, Bolton’s on-loan Celtic striker Johnny Kenny, Luton’s Kasey Palmer, Stevenage stalwart Carl Piergianni and highly-rated Plymouth striker Lorent Tolaj to claim the supporter-voted award.

The award is one Lincoln City players have been nominated for and won before. Ollie Palmer won it a few years ago, while we once had two players nominated in a single month, Jason Shackell and Michael Bostwick. Bruno Andrade was a winner, Lee Frecklington was nominated, and Michael Bostwick won it for the whole season in 2018/19.

This season has seen a number of nominations, with Rob Street and Ivan Varfolomeev both nominated in February, Adam Reach in January and George Wickens in September.
