Popular Lincoln City figure Rob Noble has announced his departure from the club, bringing an end to his second spell at Sincil Bank.
The head of club services confirmed the news in a personal statement on LinkedIn, marking the end of more than ten years as a full-time employee with the Imps across two separate spells.
Noble first worked at City between 2006 and 2011, holding roles as commercial assistant, marketing manager and sales and marketing manager. After spells with Leyton Orient and Scunthorpe United, he returned to Lincoln in November 2021 as head of supporter services, before later becoming head of club services.
Noble Confirms Lincoln City Exit
In a message confirming his departure, Noble reflected on a long association with the club, which began before his professional career had even properly started.
“Today marks my last day at Lincoln City FC, bringing to an end my second stint with the club and more than 10 years as a full-time employee.
“Lincoln City has been a huge part of my life. I first came through the doors as a school work experience student with the grounds staff before landing my first job out of university. To have spent so much of my career at the club has been a privilege.”
Noble also paid tribute to Liam Scully, who brought him back to the club during his time as chief executive, and thanked him for his backing during the last four and a half years.
“I’m grateful to Liam Scully for bringing me back to Lincoln City and for his leadership, support and trust over the last four and half years.
“It’s also fitting that I leave on a high, having experienced my first promotion in almost 20 years working in professional sport which had previously been littered with relegations and play-off heartache!”

His departure comes after a successful period on the pitch for City, with Noble noting that he leaves after experiencing promotion, something he described as a long-awaited high point after almost two decades working in professional football.
Before returning to Lincoln, Noble spent more than six years with Scunthorpe United, working across marketing, ticketing and retail. He also served as a board trustee for Scunthorpe United FC Community Sports and Education Trust between 2016 and 2021.
Prior to that, he spent two and a half years at Leyton Orient as marketing and partnerships manager, adding further experience across the commercial and supporter-facing areas of the game.
At Lincoln, Noble’s most recent spell saw him work through a period of considerable change at the club, taking on senior responsibility in supporter services before moving into the wider head of club services role.
He ended his statement by confirming that, although he is moving on professionally, his connection with the Imps will continue from the stands.
“While I’m excited for the next chapter and a new opportunity ahead, Lincoln City will always hold a special place in my heart. I’m also looking forward to returning to the terraces as a fan and supporting the club from the stands once again.
“Thank you to everyone I’ve worked with, learned from and shared this journey with.”
Noble’s exit is the second of the summer, with kit man Terry Bourne also leaving the club after promotion was secured.
