Derby County Close In On Bobby Clark Deal
Derby County are closing in on a permanent move for Bobby Clark, with DerbyshireLive reporting that the deal could be worth around £6 million.
Clark spent last season on loan at Pride Park from RB Salzburg and quickly became one of John Eustace’s main summer targets. Derby have been eager to start their business strongly, and progress towards an agreement would represent a significant early statement from the Rams.
The former Liverpool midfielder impressed during his loan spell, both in the dressing room and with supporters. Other clubs have shown interest, but Clark made it clear at the end of last season that he would be open to returning to Derby.
According to the report, the 21-year-old could undergo a medical this week if Derby and Salzburg finalise terms. The Austrian side paid Liverpool around £8 million for him and have been looking to recoup much of that outlay.
Eustace has been keen for Derby to show intent in the market, and bringing Clark back permanently would give him a player already familiar with the squad, the club and the demands of the Championship. It would also remove one of the bigger uncertainties from their summer planning, with the Rams now appearing close to landing one of their priority targets.
