Championship Latest: Manchester United Eye Double Swoop, Southampton Man Could Make £20m Exit

Manchester United Interest Could Test West Ham

Manchester United are reportedly interested in West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville, with Teesside Live reporting that the Hammers are braced for a possible £50 million bid.

Summerville is among the West Ham players expected to attract attention following relegation to the Championship. The club insist they are under no pressure to sell, but several high-profile names are likely to be monitored by Premier League sides during the summer window.

Manchester United are already said to be keen on midfielder Mateus Fernandes, and Summerville could now become another target. The winger has added to his profile at the World Cup, scoring for the Netherlands in their 2-2 draw with Japan.

The 24-year-old has already shown he can dominate at Championship level. He was named the division’s player of the year during his time with Leeds United before moving to West Ham in 2024 for a fee worth around £25 million.

Keeping Summerville would give Nuno Espirito Santo a major weapon in the push for promotion, but a £50 million offer would clearly test West Ham’s resolve. The Hammers have also been linked with Watford winger Nestory Irankunda, which adds further intrigue to their wide options as they prepare for a very different campaign in the second tier.
