Milan Closing In On Birmingham Youngster
AC Milan are reportedly close to completing a deal for Birmingham City winger Aurelian Guernier, with talks said to be in the final stages.
The 18-year-old has yet to make a first-team appearance for Blues, but his progress at youth level appears to have caught attention in Italy. Get Italian Football News, citing Gianluca Di Marzio, reports that Milan are nearing an agreement with Birmingham and that the player could travel to Italy for medical checks.
Guernier played for Birmingham’s Under-21 side last season, scoring three goals in 15 appearances. The report claims Milan’s plan is for him to initially join their Primavera setup before working towards the senior squad.
It would be a notable move for a player still waiting for his senior breakthrough in England, and it comes at a time of change at San Siro. Milan confirmed Ruben Amorim as their new head coach this week, with the Italian club now moving into the market.
