Championship Latest: Everton Hunt £50m-Rated Star, West Ham Hold Striker Talks

Everton Make Early Bowen Move – Could Cost £50m

Everton have made an initial approach for West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen, according to reports.

The 29-year-old is expected to have options this summer after West Ham’s relegation from the Premier League, and Everton are now said to have made contact over a possible deal.

Bowen is not thought to be rushing a decision. He is expected to weigh up the offers available before choosing his next move, which could slow Everton’s pursuit if other clubs enter the picture.

TalkSPORT revealed earlier in the summer that the Hammers could be looking for £50m or more for the striker, who started his career with non-league Hereford United before making his name at Hull City. As West Ham exit the top flight, it’s felt Bowen might use a Merseyside move to remain in the Premier League.

There is a clear reason for their interest. Everton struggled badly for reliable goals last season, with Beto finishing as their top Premier League scorer on nine. Bowen, despite playing in a relegated West Ham side, still produced nine goals and 11 assists in the league.
