West Ham Hold Wilson Talks
West Ham United have held talks with Callum Wilson over his future, despite the expectation that he would leave the club this summer.
Wilson’s short-term deal expires at the end of June, and after West Ham’s relegation to the Championship, it had looked likely that he would move on.
That has not yet happened. His name was absent from the club’s released list, and fresh talks have now taken place over whether there might still be a way for him to remain at the London Stadium.
“Callum Wilson had talks with West Ham yesterday,” said a source close to West Ham and Claret & Hugh.
The 34-year-old has also been linked with Hull City and Coventry City following their promotion to the Premier League. A move to either would keep him in the top flight, where he remains five goals short of reaching 100 Premier League goals.
West Ham, though, may yet see value in keeping an experienced striker around as they begin life back in the Championship.
