Middlesbrough Working On Dobbin Deal
Middlesbrough are aiming to secure a permanent deal for Aston Villa forward Lewis Dobbin, according to Football Insider.
The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Preston North End, where he became one of their most productive attacking players in the Championship. The report credits Dobbin with 10 goals and eight assists in 39 league appearances, making him the only Preston player to reach double figures for goals in the division.
Dobbin can operate wide or through the middle and has already built up a fair amount of Championship experience. Before his Preston spell, he had loan moves with Derby County, West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City, having come through Everton’s academy before joining Aston Villa.
Middlesbrough are looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, with the same report also linking them with Doncaster City goalkeeper Ashton Powney. Bristol City and Preston are also said to be in the race for the 17-year-old, who has impressed in the Northern Counties East Division One and has been called up by England Schoolboys at Under-18 level.
