Portsmouth Linked With Rocco Shein Move

Portsmouth are reportedly favourites to sign Fredrikstad midfielder Rocco Shein, with The News reporting that Pompey have moved ahead of Cardiff City and Millwall.

The 22-year-old Estonia international is said to be valued between £2.5 million and £4.2 million, with Norwegian outlet Fredrikstad Blad cited as describing Portsmouth as the “hottest option” among the clubs chasing him. Shein currently plays in Norway’s top flight after joining Fredrikstad from Dordrecht last year.

The midfielder began his career with Flora Tallinn before moving to the Netherlands, where he spent time with Utrecht and Dordrecht. He is described as an attacking midfielder who can also play from the right, giving Portsmouth another possible option in the final third if a deal can be struck.

Shein has recorded two goals and two assists in 11 Eliteserien appearances this season, following one goal and six assists from 28 games in his first campaign with Fredrikstad. With Cardiff and Millwall also credited with interest, the report suggests Portsmouth have moved into a strong position, but the valuation means any move would still represent a significant investment.
