Andrei Cordea offers something slightly different. The CFR Cluj winger is not especially flamboyant, but he has developed a valuable habit of scoring goals from the right-hand side.
Cordea scored 13 times in 30 league appearances during the 2025/26 season, having previously played for FCSB and Saudi Arabian side Al-Tai. He can operate as either a winger or an attacking midfielder and has also made five senior appearances for Romania.
His main strength is consistency. Cordea may not regularly produce spectacular pieces of skill, but he finds useful positions, contributes goals and tends to deliver a dependable level of performance. That could make him attractive to a Championship club looking for reliable output rather than an unpredictable match-winner.
The circumstances at CFR Cluj could also create an opportunity. The club have experienced financial problems, with Cordea reportedly among the players seeking unpaid wages. That situation could potentially strengthen his position if he wanted to pursue a departure.
Rapid București have been linked with the winger, although reports regarding CFR’s valuation have varied considerably. A figure between €775,000 and €2 million has been discussed, but the club’s financial position could ultimately dictate what they are prepared to accept.
Cordea is reportedly earning around €245,000 per year. At 27, he should be approaching his peak and looks capable of becoming a solid Championship player without necessarily possessing the individual brilliance required to progress much further.
