4. Alexandru Dobre

Alexandru Dobre already understands English football, having spent several years with Bournemouth and taken in loan spells at Bury, Rochdale, Yeovil Town and Wigan Athletic.
The winger never made a league appearance for Bournemouth, but his subsequent career has included spells in France, Portugal and Romania. He has since become an important player for Rapid București, scoring 22 times in his first 64 league appearances for the club.
Dobre is quick, technically accomplished and willing to work without the ball. He can attack defenders directly and has developed into a more productive player than the one who previously appeared in the EFL.
There are questions surrounding his temperament. He has been publicly critical of coaching decisions and endured a difficult relationship with sections of Rapid’s support during periods when the club failed to meet expectations. Those issues would need to be investigated carefully by any interested club.
Rapid’s financial strategy could make a transfer possible. Daniel Pancu, the club’s current manager and a major figure in Rapid’s history, has indicated that players could be sold as the club attempts to reshape its squad without significant investment from its ownership.
Previous offers reportedly included €1.5 million from Maccabi Haifa and €2 million from Utrecht, while Rizespor have also been credited with an interest. An offer in the region of €2 million may be enough to begin serious discussions.
Dobre reportedly earns approximately €120,000 per year, making his wages extremely accessible by Championship standards. He looks capable of becoming a good second-tier winger, although his personality and previous experiences in England would require careful consideration.
