Norwich Join Race For £4m Nigerian Winger
Norwich City are among a growing list of clubs interested in Kongsvinger IL winger Daniel Job, with Sacha Tavolieri reporting that the Canaries are monitoring the 20-year-old.
Job has enjoyed an excellent campaign in Norway, scoring seven times and providing six assists in 16 league appearances. Kongsvinger are reportedly looking for more than €4 million plus add-ons, having already rejected a €3 million approach from Serie A side Lecce. RB Salzburg, FC Basel and AIK are also credited with interest.
The Nigerian only joined Kongsvinger earlier this year following spells with Sarpsborg 08 and Egersund, but his rise has been rapid. Norwich are looking for another wide option after Ali Ahmed suffered an injury during pre-season, and Job fits the profile of the sort of younger player Philippe Clement’s side could develop while potentially retaining significant resale value.
Job first caught the eye after arriving in Norway with Sarpsborg 08, initially scoring eight times in 13 appearances for their second team before earning a permanent move and breaking into the senior side. A loan spell with Egersund followed in 2025, where he scored three times in 12 league appearances, before joining Kongsvinger in February.
He has since made 14 league appearances and scored six goals, numbers which underline his attacking potential at a relatively young age. Primarily a right winger, Job would represent another development signing rather than someone arriving with extensive senior experience, but his output in Norway suggests there is plenty to work with if City were indeed considering a move.
