West Ham Move For Nelson
West Ham United are reportedly closing in on Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson, with the Hammers continuing to add attacking options ahead of their Championship campaign.
The 26-year-old appears to be surplus to requirements at Arsenal after loan spells with Fulham and Brentford, and reports have linked him with a switch across London. West Ham have already added Manor Solomon from Tottenham Hotspur, but Nuno Espírito Santo is seemingly keen to strengthen further in wide areas.
Dropping into the Championship would represent a significant change, but it could also offer the regular football he has struggled to find in recent seasons. If West Ham get this one done as well, their attacking options will look increasingly formidable at this level.
Nelson came through the Gunners’ academy and has made 90 senior appearances for the club in all competitions, while also gaining top-flight experience with Hoffenheim, Feyenoord, Fulham and Brentford. Nelson’s best spell away from Arsenal arguably came in Germany, where he scored seven Bundesliga goals for Hoffenheim, while he also played a significant role for Feyenoord as they reached the Europa Conference League final in 2022. His opportunities at Arsenal have been limited in recent years, leading to Premier League loans with Fulham and Brentford
