Bolton Sign Wrexham Defender Brunt
Bolton Wanderers have added another Championship-ready player to Steven Schumacher’s squad, completing the permanent signing of Lewis Brunt from Wrexham. The 25-year-old has moved for an undisclosed fee and signed a four-year contract after leaving the Racecourse.
Brunt joined Wrexham from Leicester City in 2024 after helping Mansfield Town win promotion from League Two while on loan. He then made 29 appearances as Phil Parkinson’s side earned promotion from League One, before featuring 12 times last season prior to suffering an injury against Middlesbrough in October.
He leaves having made 41 appearances for Wrexham, with Parkinson backing him to make an impact at his new club.
“I would like to wish Lewis all the best. He’s been great for us and I’m sure he will be a good signing for Bolton Wanderers.”
Bolton have already been busy strengthening after winning promotion, and Brunt gives them another player who knows both Schumacher and the demands of the Championship. As another side likely to have survival among their initial priorities, their recruitment is certainly worth keeping an eye on.
