Lincoln City have confirmed that Sincil Bank will become largely cashless from the beginning of the 2026/27 season.
The change will apply to hospitality areas and concession units throughout the ground, although supporters will still be able to use cash for ticket and retail purchases through the club shop and ticket office.
Card Payments Across The Stadium
City have made the decision following a season-long review of payment methods, with card and contactless transactions already accounting for the overwhelming majority of purchases at the stadium. According to the club announcement, 91% of transactions during last season were made by card or contactless, with cash accounting for the remaining 9%.
The club say a significant proportion of those cash payments came through the club shop, particularly on larger ticketing and retail transactions. As a result, cash will remain available there, with a single cash till operating for supporters who would prefer to pay that way.
Elsewhere, card and contactless payments will become the only options from the first game of the season. That includes the Clubhouse, Branston Legends Lounge, Greenlinc Renewables 200 Club, concessions in the Fan Village, kiosks inside the stadium and the new hospitality area behind the Rilmac Stand.
The reasoning behind the move is to speed up service at the busiest points of a matchday, particularly before kick-off and during half-time. With more than nine out of every ten transactions already being made electronically, City have opted to move almost all food, drink and hospitality payments onto a cashless basis.
Supporters will be able to use major debit and credit cards throughout the stadium, while Apple Pay and Google Pay will also be accepted. Those wanting to pay cash for match tickets or merchandise will still be able to do so through the club shop and ticket office.
The change will come into effect immediately for the 2026/27 campaign, meaning supporters attending the opening home fixture will need a card or suitable contactless payment method if they intend to purchase food or drink inside the stadium.
