Spalding United will travel to Bury Town in the FA Cup third qualifying round, while Gainsborough Trinity could also have a home fixture to look forward to, with Anstey Nomads awaiting the winners of their replay against Leamington.

The ties are scheduled for Saturday 3 October, with £5,625 on offer to the winners and £1,875 going to the losing clubs. Victory would leave the successful sides just one further tie away from a place in the first round proper.

Spalding secured their passage with a 2-0 home win against Hanley Town, although they had to be patient before making the breakthrough. Both goals came in the closing stages, with the opener arriving in the 73rd minute and a second following in the 89th to settle the contest. The Tulips must now make the trip to Bury Town as they look to extend their run.

For Gainsborough, there is still work to do before a meeting with Anstey Nomads can be confirmed. Trinity came from behind to draw 1-1 at Leamington, recovering from conceding shortly before half-time to equalise ten minutes after the restart.

They went on to press for a winner but could not find a second goal, leaving the sides to meet again at Gainsborough on Tuesday night. Whoever progresses will host Anstey in the next round.

Match dates and replays

The default date for third qualifying round ties is Saturday 3 October 2026, with a 3 pm kick-off. Replays are mandatory if the first match finishes level after 90 minutes and must be scheduled on or before Thursday 8 October, with a 7.45 pm kick-off. Any postponed first match must also be rearranged for no later than that date.

Qualifying round prize money

The third qualifying round winners will collect £5,625, with another £9,375 available for winning in the fourth qualifying round. Clubs beaten at that final qualifying stage will receive £3,125.
