Millwall have added another player to their injury list after Filip Marschall suffered ligament damage during Saturday’s stalemate against Lincoln City.
Marschall was replaced by Max Crocombe before the second half got underway at the weekend, with the Lions recovering from a two-goal deficit to take a point against the Imps.
However, the result has come at a cost once again in the goalkeeping department for Neil Harris side.
Speaking to the NewsAtDen, the Lions boss spelt out further bad news on the injury front for his team.
“He’s hurt his ankle. He’s done his ligaments. He’s not going to be available anytime soon, which is disappointing.
“What happened was – he went into the post. His ankle went onto the back rail that holds the net on and rocked it. Unfortunately, he’s damaged his ligaments. We probably need to go and get a surgical opinion on it to see the damage.”
While a timescale on his recovery remains elusive, it isn’t expected to be any time soon. Marschall isn’t the first goalkeeper for the South Bermondsey outfit to experience injury problems this term, with ex-Lincoln shot stopper Lukas Jensen suffering the same fate. After he missed the entirety of the 25/26 season with Achilles and quad issues, Jensen briefly returned as first-choice at the start of the current campaign.
Following successive clean sheets, their good early-season work came to an abrupt end at Southampton. However, the former City man suffered another setback in the build-up to that heavy loss at the Saints, though he is expected to be back and available for selection soon. In his absence, Crocombe, who impressed last term in the Lions run to reach the play-offs, took his place for the next five fixtures.

After an uneasy set of results, shipping 13 goals in five matches, the New Zealand international lost his spot in goal to summer signing Marschall. Alongside current Imps goalkeeper George Wickens, the pair were the best two keepers in League One last term. The 23-year-old earned a move from Stevenage to The Den after helping the Hertfordshire side reach the third-tier play-offs against the odds. During his brief stint in goal, Marschall helped steady the ship, though he will have been frustrated with City’s second goal on Saturday.
At that point, he had already picked up his injury after colliding with the goalposts earlier in the contest when retrieving a set-piece.
Who Else Is Currently Missing For Millwall?
Marschall is far from the first name on the Lions injury list, though they did see their fortunes temporarily improve during the extended international break. Luke Cundle, Alfie Doughty and Kyrell Lisbie were among those to return before the three-week hiatus, while Tristan Crama and Ryan Leonard recovered during the mid-season pause from action.
Romain Esse stepped up his recovery by playing the final 18 minutes against Lincoln, but Harris and the Lions remain without several first-team players. That includes Casper De Norre, Joshua Coburn, Mihailo Ivanovic, Taïryk Arconte and Mathis Servais, severely impacting their threat in forward areas.
With this latest injury blow, Millwall will be hoping that they don’t also suffer a drop-off at the opposite end of the pitch.
