‘Better Than Burnley’ – Lincoln City Predictions From Our Fans’ Panel

Welcome to the first Stacey West Patreon Panel, where our Patreons give you their prediction and verdicts on the next fixture.
You can meet the panel here, and we’ll be adding more names as we extend our group. For now, three stalwarts to get us started!
They’re looking ahead to Birmingham’s visit to the Bank, where we’ll be hoping to end 115 years of hurt with a victory.

Dave

“I am a bit old school and, subject to injuries etc., I would stick with the mantra of “don’t change a winning team”, so I would play the side that started against Burnley. If forced to make a change, I would swap Hackett for Ogbene, as the extra speed could be helpful.

“My one reservation is that I expect Birmingham to be much better than Burnley! (Not difficult.)

“If it doesn’t work, there is plenty of depth on the bench to change things around.

“I’m going for a 2-1 Lincoln win. As I worked in Solihull prior to retirement, I have a number of friends who are Blues fans, so I hope the lads do it to ward off the texts and phone calls!”

Richard

“With 115 years since we last beat Birmingham, history is not on our side, and I don’t see that record being broken on Saturday. The Blues came a cropper at Cardiff last week, so they are beatable, but I expect them to bounce back from that. Their style is said to be similar to ours this season, and we will have our work cut out to nullify their approach.

“My one glimmer of hope is that Chris and Tom will have a plan, and it is not beyond them to spring the odd surprise. Team selection, assuming no new injuries, would probably see the same eleven that beat Burnley, except possibly Draper in for Ladefoged.

“My score prediction? 1-1.”

John

“This is a game that I think we could very well take something from. Birmingham had been on a bit of a roll until last weekend’s defeat at Cardiff, which, to me, proves they are there for the taking.

“I’d like to see us go with the same team that started against Burnley. I know Freddie is back from injury, but we all know what the great Dane in attack can do, and now he’s got a couple; I don’t think he’ll stop.

“I’m going for a 2-1 win, with another brace from Ladefoged.”
