A League One striker is close; but who is it?

BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Michael Hortin has tweeted that a deal for a striker is close, with a loan deal almost tied up for a hitman.

Danny’s looking for a number nine, a viable alternative to John Akinde who can take the burden off the big man and give our attack another dimension. It’s an interesting call with Matt Rhead also an option, but it seems the speed in behind is going to be picked up by Danny Rowe, Jordan Roberts and of course, Shay McCartan.

There’s also a possibility of a squad player going out. Without wanting to state the obvious, we think there’s every chance that the outgoing player is defender James Wilson. It must have been a huge slap in the face when Cian Bolger signed to allow Bozzy into midfield, when we had him all along. He’s been used at right back too, but with James Brown now in it looks less likely Wilson will play.

Few of you will be too bothered about that though I imagine. All eyes are on the potential striker, are they not? There’s a couple of names in the frame, but two in particular seem to be standing out. With that in mind, here’s the three strikers Lincoln City might be on the verge of signing.
